Hi, my name is C.J. Robinson.

I'm the 2026-27 Upshot Fellow at the New York Times.

I most recently worked as a Reporting and Research Fellow at the Tow Center for Digital Journalism at Columbia University, where I wrote stories for the Columbia Journalism Review on AI, media, and politics, in addition to building tools for journalists. You can find stories I've written for CJR here.

I graduated in 2025 with a M.S. in Data Journalism at Columbia Journalism School. Previously, I worked as a product analyst at the New York Times Games team working with user data to understand what makes games more engaging, and as a data scientist at Expedia building custom R packages.
